Bruce Goddard
Bruce
Goddard was born and raised in Reynolds, Georgia. He graduated
from Peach County High School in Fort Valley, Georgia and
received his BBA from the University of Georgia in 1996. He also
graduated from Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service.
The former
owner of Goddard Funeral Homes in Reynolds and Roberta Georgia,
Bruce currently has operational responsibility for hundreds of
funeral homes and cemeteries throughout the United States as
part of the senior field management team of Service Corporation
International of Houston, Texas. Through its Dignity Memorial
brand, SCI is the largest provider of funeral, cemetery and
cremation services in North America.
Bruce and his
wife Kathy reside in Warner Robins, GA and are members of
Southside Baptist Church. They have three sons.
In the past
few years this humorist, author and motivational speaker has had
over a thousand speaking engagements throughout the United
States. He presents the "lighter side" of what can be a
stressful occupation while at the same time giving thought
provoking observations about life from the perspective of a
small town undertaker.
In 2005, he
released his first book entitled, View from a Hearse, Lighten
