Auburn forestry researchers create booklet to help landowners map property online

AUBURN - Most landowners know every inch of their property – fences, timber stands, steams, pastures, hills, everything – yet they don't know what the property looks like from above or on a map.

Auburn University forestry researcher John Gilbert kept encountering this situation as he conducted a study for the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, so he created an instructional booklet to help landowners use online mapping programs.

Georgia’s Legislature – Easy Pace to Day 15

The pace of the 2012 session of the Georgia General Assembly has been unusually slow for the second year of a biennial session, largely due to legislative leadership’s inclination to focus on major issues facing the state and to reduce frivolous legislation that has long characterized legislative sessions.

 Continuing Forester Education options in 2012

Some important continuing education options for registered foresters are coming up soon. Click here to view the Georgia Forestry Commission schedule for Prescribed Burn Certification sessions in 2012.  These 2-day sessions are held at the respective UGA facilities as listed and they will handle all registration.  Once you have the Prescribed Burn Certification in Georgia, this is permanent and there is no requirement for on-going continuing education to maintain the status.
