Georgia Forestry Association to Host Regional Meeting in Morgan County |
|
On Tuesday, September 16, from 5:00 - 8:30 PM, the Georgia Forestry Association will hold its Morgan County Regional Meeting at the Pennington Farm House Pavilion. This event will mark GFA's 5th regional meeting of the year. The GFA regional meeting is an excellent opportunity to stay current with Association news, gain valuable educational experience, or just catch up with old friends in forestry. The Morgan County meeting is being held in conjunction with the Green-Morgan Landowner Association.
All landowners have a need to keep their roads in good, operational condition. Attend this meeting and see a 'live demo' of a water bar and broad based dip installation performed by the Morgan-Walton GFC County Unit. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers following the demonstration.
Following the live demo, join us for a BBQ dinner under the outdoor Pennington Pavilion (additional tent and tables will be provided). At the closing of dinner, Laura Newsome will provide an update on what is going on with the GFA Young Professionals group.
After Newsome speaks, Mike Taylor, Senior Procurement Forester, Georgia Pacific, will give a presentation on the industry perspective of forestry Best Management Practices.
The Georgia Forestry Association welcomes any forest stakeholder in the area to attend the Morgan County meeting. Alva Hopkins, Director of Communications at GFA, asks anyone who wishes to attend to RSVP by emailing him at alva@gfagrow.org or calling 478-992-8110.
Registration is $10 and can be paid at the door.
